Hello everyone and welcome back! :)
This past month was truly adventurous!
First off, Havi turned 9!!! Maddy came home from NY so she, Anna, and Ashley could make a sister road trip to Colorado and Wyoming! We made the decision to sell off all our ewes and focus more on beef. Although we'll miss them, everyone is thankful they've gone to a good home! :)
We got four new piglets, and our FINAL batch of broilers for the year!! :D
We also took another steer to the butcher!
To start off the month Havi turned 9!
This is a throwback of when she was four months old. Wasn't she adorable?! :)

Havi when she was 2.
Anna did such a good job on Havi's Birthday pictures this year! It's been such a privilege to watch her grow into the beautiful young lady she is now, and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for her in the next chapter of this very unpredictable life!
She looks so grown up, it's creepy! :)
The pinata in progress......
All done. I'd say they did a fine job!
Present time! :)
While I was going through old pictures to find throwbacks of Havi, I also found some other old pictures that I thought would be fun to share! This one has always been a favorite.
Granby, Colorado
Maddy was just so thrilled to get her picture taken!
Mt. Falcon

Kid Vendor Day at Farmer's Market of the Ozarks
Sunday after Church, we enjoyed an afternoon at Wonders Of Wildlife.
Maddy enjoyed her first visit there!
It also just makes us more in awe of God's creation.
See? Something new. I have never seen this fish before! Or, whatever that is.
Another night of volleyball! This picture is one of my favorites!
Happy to be back in the mountains!!!
Let's not forget to take a selfie!
Maddy poses...or something like that.
Sweet little photogenic Lydia in front of Mt. Bierstadt.
Chavvah and Jamie Joy <3
This was a fun obstacle! Thankfully no one fell in.
The views get better the higher you go.
At the halfway point

...Oh! and Maddy's face at the bottom left corner rockin' the sunglasses;)
Little Jamie Joy was such a trooper!
We always enjoy fellowship with Mary.
Ashley is the one on the left. Jeesh Ashley, catch up would ya.
...getting closer...
Ah, made it!
The feeling after hiking up a steep mountain
and then reaching the summit never gets old, and neither does the view!
Rain in the distance!
Summiting! (is that a word?)
Great job, Mrs. Wolf!
Ashley enjoying the view, or posing for the picture...not sure which one.
Sweet friends
Awesome job, Emma! She carried Lydia all the way up!
Rain from a distance, warning us to get down...
...so Maddy hurriedly started down before everyone else. (That and she had to use the restroom:D)
Maddy and Ronan
And we're off to Wyoming!!!
It was so good to meet their family and Sarah whom we've heard so much about from Maddy! :)
As soon as we got there, they put us to work helping to move their goats!
They're so cute!
Mary
Gail, their nine year old daughter wanted Maddy to read to her all the time!
She completely reminded us of Havi!
Saddlin' up the horses for a morning of trailing heifers in the corral to be sorted.
Ashley was overjoyed to participate...on a horse!!!
Maddy's hair was quite popular while we were there.:)
On a four wheeler ride! How many people can we fit on this thing?!
Karen, Mary, Gail, Grace, Sarah, Maddy, Ashley, and me behind the camera!

The four pigs we got (when the older ones were away). Three females and one male! Thankfully we had no problems with them! Castrating the male went smooth and they're already adjusting to their knew home very smoothly!
The storms this month were amazingly cool!
We said goodbye to our 18 ewes (Some were more disappointed then others).
We decided to sell the ewes because we wanted to take a break from raising sheep and focus more on beef. Sheep are difficult to raise on a small property without chemicals for parasites.
Almost every year, we've had challenges with lambs getting parasites, and many of the lambs died. This summer our lambs began showing signs of parasites, so we went ahead and gave them the dewormer solution and decided that it would be best to sell them and focus on raising cows.

Meanwhile in Kiddie Land,
Joe was being an awesome big brother and going on less exciting rides with Katherine!
Back to it! The American Plunge!
On Wildfire! Second row: Henry, Havi, Peyton, and Norah
A tractor and a feed bin would really come in handy about now.
But then again, we wouldn't have that time to work together as a family.
These are moments that will never be forgotten!
Katherine would rather play in the rain.

Back to Havi's Birthday:
We hauled hay for her Birthday and she had the best attitude about it!
Now, after six trailer loads, we're halfway stocked up for winter! :)
Havi & Joe brought some merchandise to sell forKid Vendor Day at Farmer's Market of the Ozarks
Since Havi's Birthday was on a Friday this year, and Maddy came out the very next day,
we decided to wait to celebrate her Birthday till Saturday when Maddy would be there.
It was well worth the wait and
so good to have Maddy back!
Maddy enjoyed her first visit there!
I'm so thankful for the glass between us! :)
Somehow whenever we go there, it seems we see something new!It also just makes us more in awe of God's creation.
See? Something new. I have never seen this fish before! Or, whatever that is.
This isn't the best picture, but, it'll do! :)
And, if your wondering why Anna and Ashley aren't pictured, they were at Baker Creek Seed Co.
This was one of the prettiest sunsets of the month!Another night of volleyball! This picture is one of my favorites!
We're teaching 'em young!
Moving our young broilers from the brooder pens to the chicken tractors, (we actually did this when the older ones were gone).
And just like that it was already time for our sisters to leave!
Definitely excited to go!
Anna here, captioning the CO/WY adventure!
We made it!
We started the vacation off the right way: Hiking the trails on Mt. Falcon.
(Also, that throwback photo towards the beginning of this post with us kids
sitting on a log was taken on Mt. Falcon too! It was one of our favorite places in CO!)
Happy to be back in the mountains!!!
Let's not forget to take a selfie!
Maddy poses...or something like that.
You mean we can't go everywhere???

On to the next adventure...the 14,060 ft. adventure, Mt. Bierstadt!
This was the sunrise when we arrived! Soooo pretty!
WARNING! Lots of 14er pictures ahead!!!

Awesome job, Emma! She carried Lydia all the way up!
Maddy: trying to catch her breath
...so Maddy hurriedly started down before everyone else. (That and she had to use the restroom:D)
On the way down, these mountain goats were right next the path. So neat!
Yeah, we got a lot of photos
Afterwards, Maddy indulged in dessert to the extent that she just fell asleep:p
(Actually, she had a bit of altitude sickness.)
It was so good to get together again with the Boehler family!Maddy and Ronan

Always good to see the Thenhaus girls!
Pictures with the Grandmas before we leave for Wyoming!
It was so beautiful out there!
And we made it to the Slagle Family Ranch. Maddy met Sarah Slagle, their oldest, at Lamplighter and they became close friends who had a lot in common: They were both the oldest siblings in a big family, their families live on a ranch/farm, and neither of them enjoy that lifestyle! It was so good to meet their family and Sarah whom we've heard so much about from Maddy! :)
As soon as we got there, they put us to work helping to move their goats!
They're so cute!

Gail, their nine year old daughter wanted Maddy to read to her all the time!

John likes to climb the post, and Maddy was just in the perfect spot!

We detoured to Mt. Rushmore on the drive home!
Pretty neat!
Back at the farm....
You never know how this boy is going to come inside from playing.
Some beauties from summer! The storms this month were amazingly cool!
And the rain was appreciated! :)

This is one of Anna and Ashley's thank you notes to the Slagle family.
This note is for Gail, and Anna thought it only fitting......
Silver Dollar City Time!
We were glad to meet our friend Henry Hutchinson.
Later on, we met up with the Niednagels and the Lang's too!

There we go! I think this is the best ride yet for him! :)

On the Tea Cups and ready for a spin competition!
Working all 29 of our lambs: It may not sound like a lot, but it sure felt like it! :p
Joe did an awesome job of holding some of the lambs still for Mom!
Havi was a huge help catching them! I'm so glad this picture was captured! :)
Great work, Havi!
To end the month: Rushing to get broiler feed unloaded before the rain starts.A tractor and a feed bin would really come in handy about now.
But then again, we wouldn't have that time to work together as a family.
These are moments that will never be forgotten!
Well, let's just say that Katherine wasn't a huge help. :)
We had the pigs in their cage (back there with the tarp) for three weeks so they would get used to us and not run away (Been there, done that!). They're now ready to be let out into this fence, which could be called their training ground. They quickly learned to respect the electric fence!
And that's a wrap!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Until next time, we hope you all have a fabulous September!
