August

Welcome back! We hope you had an absolutely wonderful August!!

Our month consisted of Anna leaving us for three whole weeks and going to Texas for a music course (we missed her so much!!), Maddy's visit with a dear friend, Sarah Slagle, on her way to CO,  having friends over, a weekend getaway for Mom and Havi, two chicken butcher days, Birthday parties, and the arrival of a new furry friend!

Anna: "I had an amazing three weeks attending this music course where I learned music theory, hymnology, music history, conducting and song writing from wonderful instructors who helped me build on my musical foundation. It was a tremendous blessing to me, and I'm grateful for their example of using their God given talents for the glory of God!"

These are a few of the wonderful people I got to know! The Kooper sisters (who became my adopted family there), and Rachel Fisher.

Lots and Lots of practice
On the weekends we had some free time for fun games!
Pictured here is Mr. Fox (or as they call him there, The Fox!) instructing the sopranos on their parts.
Rehearsal
This was quite a project! Arranging a hymn straight from the hymnal into parts for the assigned instruments.
Study hall! We spent a lot of time in here!

Our final night...which called for lots of selfies!
Me, Vanessa, and Hannah
Our team leader, Rachel, was such a blessing to me.
Heather<3 Such a beautiful woman inside and out. She was also Havi's Pre-Excel leader back in April at the family conference!
Olivia was an amazing example to me!<3
Esther, a fellow former Coloradan. Her humor and love for the Lord is beautiful!
Olivia and Johanna, two wonderful instructors who love sharing the gifts with others and are very patient when they do.
Anna, a very talented pianist who strives to only glorify God with her gift. I learned so much from the classes she taught.
Maria and Elena, (Anna's sisters) two very hardworking, loving, best friends. These two did so much behind the scenes work. We all appreciated them so much!
Celebrating Havi's 11th Birthday!!
Happy Birthday, Havi! Crazy how time flies!
Maddy made a MO stop on her road trip from NY on her way to CO!
It was great having her and Sarah with us for a whole week!!
Stringing beans from the garden, 'cause it's that time of year again!
We were so blessed to have our Pastor and his wife
over for dinner while Maddy and Sarah were here! What a fun group! That's for sure! <3
This year we got some pretty odd shaped
squash from the garden! This one was almost a perfect hat.
Longest squash we've ever gotten!
Mom and Havi on a Mother-Daughter weekend away in Branson!
An outdoor breakfast at the Hotel!
Havi made a special request to go fishing.
Lake Taneycomo: So beautiful!!
Outside of the Hotel.

And the swimming pool -- where Havi spent all her spare time!

And alas! Another butcher day complete!
We adopted a Yorkie puppy named Cooper!!
If you can't tell, he's handled more like a stuffed animal.
Isaiah purchased the ball cap and sunglasses with
a $5 bill that a woman in the store just gave him!
And now, he has better style than me!
Beautiful captures of the flowers in the garden by Anna!

Mom was baptized!
Something she had wanted for a long time: a believers Baptism, and this month she was able to!!
Such a special day for all of us!
Introducing new laying hens to our pasture!
And that's it! Thank you so much for stopping by, and come back soon!

Izzy's 12 Year Old Pictures

Now that Isabelle has been 12 for a month now, I finally got around to getting her pictures done! This post will be short and sweet and a big long one will be coming soon (hopefully)!

Memories From March

Hello all! We're back again! Man, what a busy month! Several birthdays, fun events, farm life, and everyday happenings! Shall we begin? This month literally started out with Norah turning 11! Here's just a few of her birthday photos!  This year, Norah requested a doughnut cake! Two doughnuts a person! Let's just say we all felt horrible that night. Loading more pigs up  Isaiah still doesn't know what to think of the sheep Izzy and Mr. Grumpy Gills  Katherine started riding a two-wheeler bike, with a little help from the training wheels! She could totally be a model!  Chick season has come around the corner...again! This will always be a favorite!  They make for good pets...when they're little anyway!  When you don't have a tractor and you need to seed the fields...  ...and chop broom grass down When Mom's not putting the food in your mouth fast enough  Meet the new bull calf, Demitri! ...
