Lightning Pictures

The other night there was a cloud to the east of us that had a lot of lightning in it. So I, loving the storms, decided to see if I could get some pictures of it :) So here are the the highlights of what I got.

Building Chicken Pens

In the meantime of doing everything that I have been posting about lately, the most important is working on the chicken pens. We started them in March and just now finished them last week. Yes, it really has taken 2 months. They involved more detail then Dad realized, and with the chickens getting bigger and bigger we had to get them done ASAP. Chicks can only stay in a brooder for so long. The Storries were interested in raising their chickens on pasture this year like we do so they came over to help build the pens and for their time, we gave them a pen to use for themselves. Now that we have 5 pens out on the field, it looks awesome with all those chickens in them now!!!  Our long line of pens Ike was checking this one out We finally were able to get our little laying hen chicks onto grass! Mom's Birthday

Monday was Mom's birthday!!! We celebrated Sunday, since Dad would be home and then on Monday we all went to a planting festival in Mansfield put on by Baker Creek Seed Co. We had never been before and it happened to be on Mom's birthday this year!!! It was pretty cool. It ended up being 80 degrees, making a great day for that! One of the really nice things about it was that we live really close to it! When you live out in the country, most of the time you find yourself driving about an hour to go anywhere! Yes, Anna and I took a lot of pictures while we were there. With how big our garden is this year, I'm going to need this,  for this summer! Katherine, hanging out in the stroller  This old fashioned house and car were pretty cool! Jamming barn They had a peacock there!!! I want to get a peacock one day.... just for fun! Blue grass music The garden they had there was HUGE!
