May//June

Hello everyone!
We hope you've all had a good past couple months!:)
Well, let us begin with the pictures!
WARNING: LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD. IT MAY TAKE YOU AWHILE TO GET TO THE BOTTOM!!!
We started May off with celebrating Mom's Birthday! :)
We had just moved the birds into these pens when tragedy struck. Amazingly NO chickens were killed! God is SO good!
We hurried out in mid storm, gathered up all the chickens, and transported them to the barn.
The truck full of wet and freezing chickens!
We told Mom that we were sorry she had such a rotten Birthday. She merely said,
"But I have all I need, all of you." No greater example than that for us. She's amazing!
All the chickens in the barn. I actually felt sorry for chickens that day.
With all but one pen destroyed, we had no place to put the chickens. And raising grass fed chickens in the barn wouldn’t work. (Not like we would raise the poor chickens in a barn anyway). But God is so good! Some AMAZING friends brought their own chicken pens for us to use until we could replace our pens.
With such strong winds, we got some of the neighbor’s “trash.”
Don’t be fooled, we still sell our eggs for $5.50/dozen!
Joe caught his biggest frog to date! These two have been going froggin’ every night!
Poor things. :p
They also wanted to see what frog legs tasted like....so they killed the frog, skinned it, built their own fire, and cooked them!
Speaking from complete honesty, they were actually pretty good!
They just needed to be cooked a little longer.
Well, I tried, but she was determined to keep walking! And as a result, we now have a limousine cow!😂
Here we are in a car in Springfield......making deliveries.....yup, exciting stuff! ;)
Just kidding! These two are amazing! Don’t worry Grandma, we were at a stop light, or Mom wouldn’t have been looking at the camera. :)
The sunset that night was the coolest! The lights also added a dramatic effect.
“A Mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take.”
Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who can do it all! She’s a chef, a teacher, a nurse, a secretary, a business owner, a farmer, a gardener, a hair stylist, a counselor, a wife, a Mother, and I bet you didn’t know she used to be able to do the splits either! And the list goes on.
I don’t know what I would do without you, Mom. I’m so thankful the Lord saw fit for me to be your daughter!!!!!
Love you so much! And wishing you again a Happy Mother’s Day!! :)
This is Mom’s Mother’s Day bouquet. They were so purdy!!
So, I couldn’t stop taking pictures of them!
Probably the purdiest  bouquet you have EVER seen! ;)
This kid is awesome!! I love his spunky, fun-loving attitude!
......and then there’s Anna. ;)
His face in this one is so cute!
And just like that Joe turned 8! Our first brother is 8!!!!! That’s crazy! Happy Birthday Joe!
When you think it’s your Birthday but you aren’t getting a cake or a Happy Birthday song sung to you.
The credit for this cake goes to Ashley.....like every other amazing cake of ours! :)
This king snake was so big it was worthy to take a picture of AND go on the blog! ;)
Time to butcher chicken!
So thankful we had the help of a couple of the Lang girls.........

........which means playing this game afterwards! Never a dull moment with this crew!
A couple face swaps for ya! ;) Anna with my face on the left, and
me with Anna’s face on the right!
Havi and Anna
In place of "Dave" (our Cavalier that we sold) we bought this car!
Welcome to the family Forester! Yes, we name our cars, don’t you?
Introducing Finnian and Denver. (Finnian after the Lamplighter character, and Denver after Denver, Colorado) Our new guard "dogs" for the chickens!
The younger ones are enjoying them so much!
Like running away and being chased.
"This is a weed that I'm constantly pulling out of the garden. I believe it's Oxalis. I've never really examined this pesky plant and have always just tossed it into the weed bucket. Today Katherine brought a bouquet of this to me. At first I was not impressed, but then she said, "Look, Mommy! This is a heart plant!" She picked off a single leaf and gave it to me, and, sure enough, a perfect heart 💚 shape. Kids have a wonderful gift of seeing something special, even in the things we think are a nuisance. Today I was reminded that the Lord wants us to see blessings in the midst of our struggles.....a dear lesson from our five year old."
Sunsets, volleyball, and siblings make for GREAT nights!!.......
....and cool pictures!
That’s Anna, by the way! :)
Anna and Peyton
Norah, Anna, and Peyton
We venture ahead to Jacob Stein's Birthday celebration! Those are some cute kids!
Ashley poses while Davis sings.......
Get the balloon in the cooler!!!
Those are some intense faces.
Thanks for 'posing,’ Drake! Unlike Peyton. ;)
"Smile!"
"No, a real smile." ;)
Love this picture of you, Kassidy.
Lots going on in this picture!
"No you may not have some. I'm eating this bowl of watermelon all by myself so go away."
A picture of a picture being taken. It's the 'new' thing. ;)

Ashley's group has the best facial expressions, I must say!
Poor Davis speaking his logic to two girls. From the picture,
it doesn’t look like he’s getting his point across.
When you're falsely accused.
"She did it!" "Did what?!"
Stop taking pictures of me! Oh wait....I guess I'm a hypocrite.

Ashley cutting up the watermelon cake she made for Jacob!
I think this was a new experience for everyone!
That is one cute kid if you ask me!
Time to burn those pens that got ruined in the storm.

Oh, hey Stein’s and Ford’s again! Didn’t we just see you two day’s ago? ;P
I don’t think this picture even needs a caption!
Wow, look at Katherine and Kassidy go!
Hey!.....again! This every other day thing is awesome!
 Guess who's place we're at!
Here we are at the Ford's and playing some good games of volleyball.
“Wow, look at that ball go!”

Anna and Kassidy

At the creek!
Kicking off the heat the right way!

Isaiah didn’t want to leave the shallow part even with his life vest on.
Mom relaxing in her tube.
Thank you, Anna for this unexpected picture! :p

Chillin', what Anna does best.
Everyone's look after they go underwater for the first time!
Seeing if the person on the tube made it through okay.
<3
By far, he has the BEST facial expressions of ALL of us!!
Aww!
Yeah.....he gets pretty pampered, being the youngest and all. ;)
Joe wanted to see if he could make it all night with a pair of handcuffs on or something....I promise, we didn’t do that to him!
Ashley’s Father Day post on Instagram was so good, that I thought I would share it on here.....
“It is much easier to become a Father than be one.” -Kent Nerburn

“I’ve been blessed with the most incredible Dad a girl could ask for! Hard working, dedicated, strong, resilient, courageous, compassionate, sensitive. All these things I’ve seen him demonstrate with love and devotion. So many times I’ve wondered how did I get so lucky??????
I love you Dad, thank you for guiding and protecting us as we’ve grown and giving us the truths of God’s Word. You have been my super role model all my life and you always will.

My Dad is not just my Dad, he’s my Father. He’s been there every day of my life, walking beside me and picking me up when I fall. I see in him the love my Heavenly Father has for me.💙
Happy Father’s Day Dad, I love you so much!!!”
-Ashley
Weren’t Mom and Dad such a cute young couple! ;)
And for memorie's sake...... :)
Wow, that was a little while ago.

Not the best picture, but it was too cute not to share! I think we have an aspired guitarist!
It's tradition.....so, here you are! ;)
But this time, we'll do just a “couple” of sky pictures! :)

This was super exciting!!! We have our own seasoning now!!! Our garlic salt is now up for grabs! ;D
He pulls off sunglasses well!
Don’t you think?
Gathering up chickens for butchering and moving
the other chickens out of the barn before our next batch gets here! Isiah, your help was much a appreciated!

Yup, they are quite entertaining!
Mary stayed with us for a couple days due to chicken butchering.
We were so glad she could help us! :)
300 new chicks arrived the day before we butchered.
So, for a few short hours we had almost 700 broilers on our farm! We just might have set a record!
A few of us pulled an all nighter (just a few) before butchering by accident.
Me, Sophia, Addie, Anna (Millsap), Leta, and Joe!
Sophia and Addie
We also had some help from the Millsap family and Addie Hunter! Thank you all so much for coming!
*Addie's face describes perfectly how people feel wearing a trash bag to keep themselves dry*

The crew of trash bag wearers!
Also, shout out to Joel Andersland who also came and helped us!
Havi, cutting the leg quarters off! ;)

How everyone looks after butchering...
The amazing sunset that sealed our butcher day off!
Like always, we get a terrifying welcome from Davis! Just kidding Davis, you're
awesome! ;)
Going down the Ford's awesome slippin' slide!
WARNING: There are A LOT of pictures ahead because we couldn’t pick just a few!

Everyone's expressions were priceless, I must say!

The expressions in this picture are great!

Every time I see this picture I can't help but laugh!

The Moms.......chattin' away!
Two super cute little boys who aren't photo shy! Win, win! ;)

Pretty epic ;)

Please don’t kill me for putting these pictures on Drake, they're just way too funny! ;D
Here's an adorable sequence of Isaiah going down the slide for you!

This one is 'too' good!
So much joy in one picture.
All the people who never got wet.....
While at the Ford’s, we got a call that we needed to pick up 412 square bails that same day. Immediately, the Ford’s and Stein’s offered to help us get them loaded and stacked in our barn before dark (starting time was around 6:30 p.m.). With three trailers and two trucks to fill, we got 412 bails loaded and put up in our barn in 4 hours. There is no way we could have done that by ourselves. That was SUCH a blessing to us! Plus, it made it SO much more FUN!!! :D So, if you are reading this, thanks again for all your help. It meant SO much!!!

Last load of the night!
Thanks, Davis, for bringing your fun personality along! :)
We weren’t slacking, I promise! ;p
Round two of loading hay!
This is such a cool picture!
And we’re set for winter!!! :D
When Dad rides on the hay and you take a picture:

And to top off the month.....
.......we went blueberry picking.......
........with friends!.....
......and now everyone's happy because they have blueberries! ;D

In case you were wondering why Anna and Ashley were missing in most of those pictures (especially getting hay ;p) this is why:
Ashley and Anna have both been working for Baker Creek for quite some time now!
“I still can’t believe how blessed I am! As if this place isn’t amazing enough- work environment wise- the people we’ve gotten to know and work with are nothing short of amazing! 💛
Ya’ll need to check these guys out at rareseeds.com for any of your future planting needs! 😊”

Now, what Maddy has been up to the past few months!
“Enjoying watching the sunset tonight on the college campus with Meeka.”
“Completed my first 2 college classes during this quarantine. I’d say it’s been a productive use of down time. Not sure if it made the lock down seem longer  or shorter, but it’s over and I’m happy about it. ;)”
“Spending the afternoon with these guys was great!”
“Now that our 8 months of winter is over it’s time to soak up all the great summer weather!”
“Summer work this year looks very different for me. Normally I’m sending inventory to conferences around the country, but with all them cancelled I’m getting out of the office and working outside a lot. This kind of  change I can get used to.”

“Social distancing doesn’t apply to us! Hiking, and ice cream with friends is the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.”

Maddy has also decided to go with a new look!

And that's it! Thank you so much for stopping by! See you next month!

Izzy's 12 Year Old Pictures

Now that Isabelle has been 12 for a month now, I finally got around to getting her pictures done! This post will be short and sweet and a big long one will be coming soon (hopefully)!

August In A Nutshell

Hello folks!  We hope you all had a great August!  This month Mom, Dad, and Isaiah drove to CO to drop Peyton and Norah off, so they could visit with our Grandmas for two weeks. They were supposed to go to Germany and Austria with Grandma Mary in June, but, due to covid19, they weren’t able to go.  But they still needed some Grandma time! We also butchered around 300 chickens this month. We’ve never butchered that many at the same time before, so we broke them up into two different butcher days. (Since we had to cut up 200 of them).  And took steers to the butcher!!!  August was also ‘drought  month’ for MO. The fields turned crispy brown,  which hasn’t been helpful for our grazing cattle.   Thankfully, we’ve gotten some good rains right at the end of the month,  and things have once again greened up! Priscilla (my cow) FINALLY had her calf!! We’ve been waiting so long for her to arrive! (YES!!! She had a heifer!!!!!!) So, the process of milking has finally begun! And we’re already get

April

Welcome Back!! Hope you all had a great April! For us, it was quite crazy! But I guess we should be used to that by now. Overview of April: Springfield Symphony with my cello teacher, her husband, and a few other friends, a Bakers creek Festival, hiking at Ha-Ha Tonka with some of the Ford's, Easter, and a Family Conference in Big Sandy, Texas with the Ford family! Springfield Symphony in Downtown Springfield! Such a beautiful building!! The Symphony!  We also had the pleasure of getting to watch one of the world's best cellists, Bryan Cheng! When you randomly discover that the blue lights in your room make yellow highlighters glow! .....and your siblings ask you to write all over them, and not only do you listen to them but you also think it's a great idea🙈 It's a yellow nose and arms for the win!! Somebody's got a bun in the oven! ;) It's Anna in the background for me! 😂 Got a chance to get some quality time in with this beautiful girl! I love our walks and
