Trip to Israel

So in October I was able to go to Israel and it was awesome! It really didn't feel like a  foreign country. It is different in its own way, like when you're driving down the highway you would see a shepherd and in a desert watching his sheep. (I saw one on his phone while watching them!):D Their food wasn't that foreign to me, it was pretty good. I've never had so many vegetables for breakfast though. I am now noticing things in the Bible that I haven't noticed before and I get to say that I've been there! Its awesome. (Caution extremely long post).
This is the view from our first hotel in Ammon Jordan
The first day we went to Mount Nebo where Moses looked over the promise land, died, and was buried.

Next we went to a mosaic workshop

 Yes, these are all mosaics
 Marble mosaics
This at the City of Jerash. The Romans built Jerash, which they called Geresa.

The crazy Pastor who came with us!

They let me take their picture!
Singing the Doxology. It sounded so pretty!

 They have really big centipedes

The next day we drove over to Petra. And a random picture of a herd of sheep.

This is the rock they believe Moses struck and drew water from.
Paula Spark drinking the water from it.
Tim Lindeman also drinking the water
 First glimpse of Petra
Petra is mentioned in the Bible as Sela, capital of Edom. The Nabateans made it their capital city in the sixth century B.C. and carved the magnificent structures we see today.

Everyone said this looked like an elephants head. It didn't to me.

You don't see these every day!

 Can you see the face?
We were able to watch this guy create the sand artwork in a jar. It was awesome!

Can you see the camel in the rock?
Trying to convince him it's a certain herb.
The next day we crossed the boarder from Ammon Jordan into Israel. This is the last picture in Ammon Jordan.....
and the first picture of Israel. It took all day to cross the boarder.
That night we got to go swim/float in the Dead Sea. It was awesome!

The next day. Sunrise over the Dead Sea

 Our new tour bus.
It's that crazy guy again! He keeps showing up!
We are on our way up to Masada. Where the Jews were destroyed by the Romans.

It was such a pretty view.

Our tour guide, Dov (Dove is how it sounds).

Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where discovered.

The Jordan River where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
I got to stand in it, how cool is that?!
Pastor Joe Meyer
Pastor Tim Lindeman
There was a lot of palm trees there.
 The Sea of Galilee

The next day we went to the Mt. of the Beatitudes

 Bus selfie!

 The Sea of Galilee

 Peter's house

 Haha!

The ancient boat that was found in the Sea of Galilee.
Picture of how they moved it from one place to another.
This was the name of the boat we rode on the Sea of Galilee

 Singing the Star Spangle Banner

Our entertainer. If you want to see a video of him singing, follow me on Instagram: @ag.coulter to see it.

The Church of the Annunciation where the angel appeared to Mary and told her she would conceive a son.
The floor looked like steps.

You don't see this every day either.

 A wine press

 Pressing olives

Making yarn

 Tel Dan

Banias Falls. Nearby Hermon which is one possible site for the transfiguration, and  a source of the headwaters of the Jordan River.

Some of the statues were really weird.

 Overlooking Syria

Syria in the distance.

Traveling sure does make you tired

 The home of Mary Magdalene.
Stones they used to block the street so the Romans couldn't get in.

 This painting was amazing!
 This was creepy
Megiddo, There was a Canaanite city here around 2000 B.C. which was fortified in the 18th century by the Hyksos and then conquered by Pharaoh Thutmose of Egypt in 1478 B.C.

This is a place where they would store their food
This is a manger and they believe this is what Jesus' manger looked like

 I love tunnels!

Mount Carmel where we remember the Elijah story

We were joking that less hill is the opposite way!

 Caesarea, built by Herod

We were listening to our guide when out of nowhere this model comes.....it was funny!;)

Remains of the Crusader tower in the harbor

This is the woman's section where they go to pray

You're not supposed to take pictures of the soldiers... but do I listen? NO!

The next day we head for the City of David and walk through Hezekiah's tunnel.

Walking through the tunnel.
 Yeah it was tight.

 Exiting

This was a weird looking building.
I caught this guy sleeping on the job! ;)
 Somebody's getting a nice gift.
It took these two girls forever to realize, " Huh, maybe we should use the sidewalk."
Sorry it's not that great of a picture, but this is a sycamore tree.
The Mount of Temptation where Jesus was tempted three times by the Devil.

 Shopping time!

I loved the way these knives look

Next we stopped at the Valley of the Shadow.

 This was in an intersection.
The Jews holiday Yom Kippur happened on one of the days we were there. They close all of the streets down. We got back early, so we had a party. View from the top level of our hotel.
Those are children playing on bikes in the middle of an intersection.
 This is a crazy picture!

 Don Nichols and Lori Mcdowell

Due to Yom Kippur, we weren't able to ride around on the bus so we walked a short distance to see the christian sites in the Old City. We are walking in the middle of the road here.

 They had some cute statues.

Here's a glimpse of the Wailing Wall and the Dome of the Rock

This is part of the road Jesus walked on while carrying the cross.

 That's all mosaic

 All men do it.......

 I knew that.....

The church of the Holy Sepulcher

 The ceiling was all mosaic
This is where they laid Jesus before they buried him.

One of the tombs they believe he was buried in.
This is a tomb with a rolling stone.

 Theirs so many cats there!
 The steps Jesus taught on.

You can see the Jewish grave yard in the back round.
Here's a better picture of the Wailing Wall.

 The Dome of the Rock

A picture of what the Dome looks like on the inside.

 Kinda creepy.

This is the smallest Bible in the world, and it has every book of the Bible in it.
Another tomb where they think Jesus was buried.

 Where Jesus was crucified.
Can you see the skull in the rock?
We were able to take communion while we were there.

 On the plane
 Made it to London

August In A Nutshell

Hello folks!  We hope you all had a great August!  This month Mom, Dad, and Isaiah drove to CO to drop Peyton and Norah off, so they could visit with our Grandmas for two weeks. They were supposed to go to Germany and Austria with Grandma Mary in June, but, due to covid19, they weren’t able to go.  But they still needed some Grandma time! We also butchered around 300 chickens this month. We’ve never butchered that many at the same time before, so we broke them up into two different butcher days. (Since we had to cut up 200 of them).  And took steers to the butcher!!!  August was also ‘drought  month’ for MO. The fields turned crispy brown,  which hasn’t been helpful for our grazing cattle.   Thankfully, we’ve gotten some good rains right at the end of the month,  and things have once again greened up! Priscilla (my cow) FINALLY had her calf!! We’ve been waiting so long for her to arrive! (YES!!! She had a heifer!!!!!!) So, the process of milking has finally begun! And we’re already get

April

Welcome Back!! Hope you all had a great April! For us, it was quite crazy! But I guess we should be used to that by now. Overview of April: Springfield Symphony with my cello teacher, her husband, and a few other friends, a Bakers creek Festival, hiking at Ha-Ha Tonka with some of the Ford's, Easter, and a Family Conference in Big Sandy, Texas with the Ford family! Springfield Symphony in Downtown Springfield! Such a beautiful building!! The Symphony!  We also had the pleasure of getting to watch one of the world's best cellists, Bryan Cheng! When you randomly discover that the blue lights in your room make yellow highlighters glow! .....and your siblings ask you to write all over them, and not only do you listen to them but you also think it's a great idea🙈 It's a yellow nose and arms for the win!! Somebody's got a bun in the oven! ;) It's Anna in the background for me! 😂 Got a chance to get some quality time in with this beautiful girl! I love our walks and
