A Recap Of July's Craziness!

Thanks for stoppin' by! We hope your July was a fun one!
Ours was a whirlwind of craziness! But, by God's grace we were able to do so many amazing things! We got to celebrate Independence Day with so many wonderful friends, we took one of our steers and three of our pigs to the butcher and got another chicken butcher day behind us. For the first time in two years, we have a total of zero pigs and no broilers on the field...for now. We have another batch of young broilers brooding on the front yard, and our LAST batch coming the first week of August! :) Mom, Dad, and Isaiah were able to make a trip back to their roots in Colorado to attend a funeral for a very good friend, a wedding, and visit with family and friends!:) So yes, we kids were left home alone AGAIN! Well, since pictures are so fun to look at, I'll stop my yappin' so you can scroll on down!:)
We started July off with some more blueberry picking! We collected a lot more this round than the last and made the trip well worth it! (I think I see Anna doing some taste testing!:)
*This isn't all we picked! ;)
Joe found this snapping turtle in our garage. Thankfully we got it out, and kindly relocated it. :) This is one of those animals that are not cute or nice when they are young.
With this past awesome July weather, a few of us kids chose to sleep out on the trampoline. We set a goal for trying to sleep out every night of July. As time passed, there seemed to be fewer kids on the tramp though. In the end, it was only Peyton and Me. After five nights, our blankets ended up stinking like mildew because of the humidity, and Mom got tired of seeing our blankets hanging all over the place during the day to dry. Even though we didn't make it through the whole month, we sure tried, and that's what counts! ;)
Here we are at the Ford's for prayer meeting!
Actually these pictures show what we did AFTER our prayer meeting!
This slide was a blast, but everyone playing together made it a whole lot more fun!

Mid air shot! Just look at the intensity on their faces!

Anna slides down so gracefully. :)
Ashley made another cake for the 4th of July! It turned out pretty good! :)
Here we are at the Cook's 4th of July party!
This event was "Get the ribbon off the pig" for kids ages 12
and under! It was quite fun to watch! But that poor pig. :p
 And it's relay racin' time!
Here Anna is trying not to let a lot of water fall from the cup that is taped to her helmet.

Don't fall off, Havi!
The facial expressions you get from competitors:)

 The determination is real.
 Such fake smiles
The best swing EVER!
 Epic volleyball blocks!

Joe & Isaiah preferred hanging out at the bottom of the slide! ;)
Havi pulling Isaiah down the kids water slide!
It's pinata time! Everyone's ready to go for the candy!
Katherine's bag "full" of candy from the pinata!
The rope swing was a blast! Anna was actually able to do a back flip off of it, we never got any pictures of it though. This is me on the swing by the way. :)

Henry, Isaiah, and Norah waiting for the fireworks show

The show was spectacular!
I have to admit, I am really proud of this shot! :)
Fireworks gone wrong!
The Grand Finale!!!!
Joe and Havi
Anna wanted to get some cool pictures for the 4th of July, and this was my favorite!
Here we are at a creek near the Niednagel's! Some of us kids rode our bikes 6 miles to swim, which was fun, but super hot! So when we got there, we were all ready to jump in! :)
Ashley, Anna, Kalea, Mary, Havi, Norah, and Sarah!
This, personally, was one of my favorites!
One of those 'perfectly timed photos'!
The long line of hungry kids

 And it's castrating time!
Anna wanted to get her annual photo with the sheep.
We always look forward to seeing her expressions!
It really was interesting to Isaiah!
Isaiah wanted to be in there with them but he wasn't allowed to so he got kind of mad!
I love this picture of Isaiah with Katherine's bike. I can never get him to smile like this, so when I saw how it turned out I was thrilled!
Our next batch of broilers on the front yard! :)
This past year we have been trying our hardest not to overgraze our fields,
so the cows and sheep are moved twice a day everyday!
And we have actually noticed a big difference with how much grass we have now
versus what we had a year ago.
(Well, all the rain we've been getting has been helpful too ;))
One of our guinea hens surprised us with a batch of nine guinea keets!
We didn't know about the nest and we're thinking that's probably why they hatched. :)
And these are the ducklings that were mentioned on the other blog post! I spy the Mom! :D
And it's time for another butcher day! We finished 190 chickens in 9 hours!
Havi, Peyton, and Norah ready to knock it out again!
A huge thanks to our reinforcements, the Lang family who came out to help us!!
Mom, Dad, and Isaiah are off to Colorado! Since Isaiah is a go, go, go type, he wasn't too thrilled about how much sitting he had to do on the way.  Thankfully, he slept most of the time.
Getting quality time in with the Grandmas!

Dad had a chance to meet up with his friend Dave Bratten!
Here they are at the Bronco's training camp!!
Mom and Dad were so happy to be able to attend Megan Halloran's (now Arroyo) wedding! Megan is one of Dad's former youth group students, so it was very special for Dad and Mom to be there.  It had been years since they had seen each other. We kids were really bummed we couldn't be there too, but we're thankful for photos!

Isaiah, Mom, Dad, Mrs. Jones, Meg, Ted, Alina, Rebekah, and Oscar!
The best place to have a wedding in my opinion! :D
 And the speeches are made!
Isaiah really got into the dancing, or a staring contest.....
The next morning... weddings are so exhausting!
He wasn't a fan of the trip home either!
It's so cool that we can see rain coming in the distance!
After a few weeks with no rain, we were so happy when we saw this!
We later looked out and it looked like this! No rain this time, but thankfully we got rain later on!
The beauties of summer!

Blackberry picking at our neighbor's place! We are all stalked up on black and blueberries now!!

I noticed Joe's paints were unbuttoned after I got the photo, oops! I still really like this picture though so I'll use it anyway! ;)
Joe had a McDonald's gift card so he treated us all to ice cream!
They were kind of hard to eat before they melted! :p
 And it's bowling time!!!!

We're not the best at it but it was still a lot of fun!
  Here Isaiah trusts Anna.
Here Isaiah doesn't trust Anna.
(Mom wasn't there to see this!)😲
Volleyball is awesome! Especially when you beat your older sister!
Unfortunately, that didn't happen in this game.
For this next month, let's try not to take this life for granted.
May we realize that we are to live for Christ.
Only He can give life through His Son, Jesus Christ.
And that's a wrap!!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you all have an awesome August. See you next time!

Izzy's 12 Year Old Pictures

Now that Isabelle has been 12 for a month now, I finally got around to getting her pictures done! This post will be short and sweet and a big long one will be coming soon (hopefully)!

August In A Nutshell

Hello folks!  We hope you all had a great August!  This month Mom, Dad, and Isaiah drove to CO to drop Peyton and Norah off, so they could visit with our Grandmas for two weeks. They were supposed to go to Germany and Austria with Grandma Mary in June, but, due to covid19, they weren’t able to go.  But they still needed some Grandma time! We also butchered around 300 chickens this month. We’ve never butchered that many at the same time before, so we broke them up into two different butcher days. (Since we had to cut up 200 of them).  And took steers to the butcher!!!  August was also ‘drought  month’ for MO. The fields turned crispy brown,  which hasn’t been helpful for our grazing cattle.   Thankfully, we’ve gotten some good rains right at the end of the month,  and things have once again greened up! Priscilla (my cow) FINALLY had her calf!! We’ve been waiting so long for her to arrive! (YES!!! She had a heifer!!!!!!) So, the process of milking has finally begun! And we’re already get

April

Welcome Back!! Hope you all had a great April! For us, it was quite crazy! But I guess we should be used to that by now. Overview of April: Springfield Symphony with my cello teacher, her husband, and a few other friends, a Bakers creek Festival, hiking at Ha-Ha Tonka with some of the Ford's, Easter, and a Family Conference in Big Sandy, Texas with the Ford family! Springfield Symphony in Downtown Springfield! Such a beautiful building!! The Symphony!  We also had the pleasure of getting to watch one of the world's best cellists, Bryan Cheng! When you randomly discover that the blue lights in your room make yellow highlighters glow! .....and your siblings ask you to write all over them, and not only do you listen to them but you also think it's a great idea🙈 It's a yellow nose and arms for the win!! Somebody's got a bun in the oven! ;) It's Anna in the background for me! 😂 Got a chance to get some quality time in with this beautiful girl! I love our walks and
