Hello folks!
We hope you all had a great August!
This month Mom, Dad, and Isaiah drove to CO to drop Peyton and Norah off, so they could visit with our Grandmas for two weeks. They were supposed to go to Germany and Austria with Grandma Mary in June, but, due to covid19, they weren’t able to go.
But they still needed some Grandma time!
We also butchered around 300 chickens this month. We’ve never butchered that many at the same time before, so we broke them up into two different butcher days. (Since we had to cut up 200 of them).
And took steers to the butcher!!!
August was also ‘drought month’ for MO. The fields turned crispy brown,
which hasn’t been helpful for our grazing cattle.
Thankfully, we’ve gotten some good rains right at the end of the month,
and things have once again greened up!
Priscilla (my cow) FINALLY had her calf!! We’ve been waiting so long for her to arrive! (YES!!! She had a heifer!!!!!!) So, the process of milking has finally begun! And we’re already getting almost gallon a day!
Havi also turned 10!!!
In CO and visiting Nana and Grandpa!
Just a very normal day at Grandma’s!
At the park in Grandma’s neighborhood!
His shirt says it all.
The look you give when you have to leave CO and leave two of your siblings behind!
A couple pictures of their two weeks in CO with Grandma!
*They did a lot more than what's pictured*
Anna, Mom, and Katherine went to pick them up! Here Anna is in her happy place! ;)
At Grandma Pat’s!
Lunch at Grandma Mary’s!
And Grandpa also got to stop by to see them!
They stopped by Nana’s store for
Colorado sunsets! <3
Anna’s awesome shot!
Some people think what we do is too much time and work. That may be so, but it’s how
we raise healthy meats. There’s no shortcut for good food.
But in the end, it’s all worth it when you get to hand the very same chickens YOU raised to the customer, who thanks you for raising healthy meat!
We wouldn’t change the way we raise our animals for the world.
Introducing our new calf, Flossy!!!!
Literally the smallest calf I have ever seen!
Thankfully, she has gained some weight since these were taken!
Isaiah is such a classic!!
This was right after he woke up. When I tried to take a picture of his morning face, he did this.
Butcher day!!!!
Thank you, Mary for your help!!!!

The crew for the second butcher day! (The two butcher days were actually a week apart)
Shout out to Mr. Dan, and the rest of the Lang’s that came to help!!!
Anna also got a new camera!!! As you can tell, she is very excited about it!!!
I was also very happy about this new purchase, ‘cause guess who got her old one!
It’s an awesome camera! :)
These two are amazing to say the least.
Since I can remember Mom has always had a kid in her arms, and Dad has always taught us the Bible. Where we stand with what we believe and why we believe it, understanding other world views, and having a love for the things God has entrusted to us.
If I were to write about all the reasons that I am grateful for you two on little pieces of paper, they would fill up an entire room.
You both are amazing, and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for everything you are.
Update on the pigs: They are HUGE!!!!!!!!
Also, did you know pigs sit like dogs?!
Summer nights are the BEST!!! Also, I was really happy with how this turned out! :)
Getting together with these people is always an interesting time!!! :D
We somehow ended up loosing the rest of them ;)
Look at this really cool wall we found in Ava! I wonder how long it took someone to paint that!
And naturally, Ashley needed a picture in front of it!
These two are awesome!!!
A classic for sure!!!
For some reason this looks like an engagement picture!
Why I don't go shopping. Only Moms can find anything good!
Thank you Ashley for this classic shot!!! ;)
I was so impressed with the shots Kalea was getting! She truly has a gift for taking the coolest pictures! And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she becomes a professional photographer someday!!!
I finally got my permit!!! And I lived happily ever after! *Wink, Wink*
Also, driving is AWESOME!!!!!!
If you were to fast 1 or 2 times a week, you would learn fast that on those days of fasting, you would need to drink an abundance of water otherwise disaster would ensue. If you don’t, you will begin to feel sluggish. Your head would begin to hurt, your body would feel achy, your brain would cloud over and you would be overwhelmingly tired. Rather than the necessary bounce in your step, your feet would move as if you were trudging through sludge.
When you finally could eat again, your eyes would brighten, your foggy head would clear up, and you would have renewed energy. It’s amazing what just a few bites of food will do!
This illustration holds true to our Bible intake as well. In order to function properly we need to refresh our spirit daily with the living water from the Word of God. The effects of fasting from the Word may not be as immediate or obviously detectable, but they are disastrous to our Christian walk nonetheless.
I encourage you, especially during this time to take the time everyday to not only read your Bible, but to search it, apply it, and live it.
Thank you so much for stopping by! And we hope you all have a wonderful September!
